We are very proud of and work hard to maintain our impeccable safety record. In almost 17 years of performing we have only needed 3 bandaids for our fighters and no patron has ever been touched.
We are always aware of our spacing and our proximity to the audience. Using only proven weaponry we carefully inspect and maintain our weapons to the highest standards possible. While breakages can occur, they are very rare and have always been contained within the fight area.
Our extensive safety training enables us to stop instantly during a fight if a dangerous situation occurs. Members who are not fighting are doing crowd control and spotting for potential dangers. If a situation occurs, our spotter yells our key word, ‘HOLD!’ and all fighting stops instantly. When the situation has been handled, fighting then resumes.
Our choreographed fights are designed for safety, entertainment and showing the love we have of playing with these weapons. In order to achieve this, we rehearse 20-60 hours for every minute of fighting we present. When demonstrating to children, we emphasize the need for them not to ‘try this at home’.
We do reserve the right to refuse to fight if the conditions are not safe, including lightening and heavy rain or if the footing is not safe. However we still continue to interact with the patrons and do what we can to make the event a success. |
